Founded in 2002 by Pamela Thibodeaux and Randy Dupre, the goal of the Bayou Writers Group is to educate, encourage, and inspire.
We welcome authors of all genres and host an annual Young Writers Contest to bring awareness and recognition to those who will (hopefully) follow in our footsteps to keep BWG alive and flourishing
Over the years we've grown and evolved from a small group of people meeting monthly to a NP Organization with an Annual Conference, Writing Contests and group Anthology!
Note our original logo :-)
Our current logo was voted on by BWG members to show our roots as well as our growth.
We meet at the Carnegie Memorial Library in Lake Charles, LA (411 Pujo Street) on the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.
We then adjourn to a local restaurant to fellowship and reflect on the meeting over a meal. All members and guests are welcome to join us for lunch!
