BWG Terry L. Thibodeaux, Sr., Conference Scholarship

BWG co-founder, Pamela S. Thibodeaux, started this scholarship in 2009 to honor her late husband, Terry, whose support and encouragement was instrumental in starting Bayou Writers Group.

In 2010 four (4) scholarships were awarded. Any writer is eligible to apply.

The form and essay must be received by the BWG Scholarship Committee Chairperson, Sherry Perkins, President, by midnight Central Daylight Time, October 6, 2012. You may either present the application to Sherry in person or email this completed form as an attachment to sperkins (at) beau.k12.la.us. Put CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIP as the subject. Only the Committee Chairperson will know the names of the applicants. A code number will be assigned to each application to ensure confidentiality.

Essay instructions:

On a separate page, please describe why you are applying for the BWG Terry L. Thibodeaux, Sr., Scholarship and how you would benefit from receiving it. You may also include other information helpful in considering your application. No more than one double-spaced page, 1-inch margins please. Any 12 pt font is acceptable. Please make sure your name is not on the essay, as it will be read anonymously by the Scholarship Committee. Again, only the Scholarship Chairperson, currently Sherry Perkins, President, will know of each applicant’s identity. Applicants’ names will be kept confidential.

Remember: Please present application and essay to Sherry in person or e-mail both the application and essay to sperkins (at) beau.k12.la.us no later than midnight Central Daylight Time by October 6, 2012.

Recipients will be notified via phone, in person, or email by October 15th, 2012.
