Congratulations to Sylvia Ney, newsletter editor, for winning First place in the Texas Gulf Coast Writers poetry contest!
Congratulations to three BWG writers who won third place and honorable mention at the 10th Annual Jambalaya Writers’ Conference April 13, 2013, in Houma, Louisiana. James Tate‘s The Ditchmaster and Linda Todd‘s Wild Justice tied for third place in the Novel Excerpt category, and Gator Talk Editor Sylvia Ney received Honorable Mention in the same category for Stone of Destiny. Great job!
Congratulations to the Reminiscent Writing Contest‏ Winners, sponsored by the Calcasieu Parish Public Library/Southwest Louisiana Genealogical & Historical Library! BWG member Debra Bailey won 3rd Place and member Angie Kay Dilmore won 1st Place.

Rodney Hennigan is speaking with area youth about motivation and writing.

Mike McHugh is a finalist in an online Humor Writing Contest with Jambalaya News.

Merrilyn Williams has a flash fiction piece in the February issue of the online site Infective Ink.

Willis Abshire – his novel The Curse, the Diary and the Cross can be purchased through Westbow Press through the book store in soft cover, hard cover and ebook distribution. It will also be available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Books A Million and various other online book distributors.

Sherry Perkins – Her book of poems and short stories “The Red Book” will soon be available for $8.00 from her and will also be available on Amazon and Kindle.

Rachel Windham – her children’s book on prayer and the accompanying coloring book about listening to God are now available for $15.

Debbie Sonnier – Recently accepted for publication by Wild Rose Press.

Rebecca Stelly – Her story Enthralled is now available on Amazon.

Carol Weishampel – Recently had an article accepted for publication.
